Funding from NexPhase Capital Partners Ignites Expansion Plans for Clearway Pain Solutions Institute
New York, NY – [July 31, 2018]
Fueled by funding from NexPhase Capital Partners, Gulf Coast Pain Institute (GCPI) announced today that it has changed its name to Clearway Pain Solutions Institute (Clearway) as the first step in a national expansion of the successful pain management group. Since GCPI’s founding in 2013 by Jeff Buchalter, M.D., David Fairleigh, M.D., and Mark Larkins, M.D., the practice has established itself as a leading presence in the Gulf Coast region for comprehensive pain management.
“We chose to partner with NexPhase because we believe in what we do so much that we want to reach more patients in order to make an even greater difference for those we serve,” said Jeff Buchalter, M.D., Chairman of Gulf Coast Pain Institute. “NexPhase is providing the capital to fuel our growth expansion, and a whole lot more. They are recognized healthcare experts who bring strategic know-how and a reputation for cultivating value and opportunity for the companies they invest in.”
Under the new Clearway brand, the practice group plans to broaden its clinical and operational capabilities and expand geographically by increasing patient volume in existing locations, opening brand new locations, and acquiring other strategically aligned practices.
“GCPI has a strong track record of delivering the kind of patient care that produces optimal outcomes,” said Barbara B. Hill, Chairman of the Board of Clearway and a NexPhase Operating Partner. “As Clearway, our goal is to reach more patients and become the destination for other physician practices and supporting clinical teams seeking a place to practice quality medicine within a premiere system of care.”
The day-to-day operations will be led by industry executives Deborah Origer and David Watson as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively. The three founding physicians will continue to be an integral and important part of the Clearway team.
